The Bluetooth phone and media connections seem to operate a little differently. The media one does the same thing for me on Android - I either have to connect to it manually, or do something on the phone to play music (and then it shows up as connected).

Same for me. Find it annoying, no idea why it has to be like that.

Sometimes you just have to select "connect last player", takes 2 seconds. No big deal.

Assuming you're already in media, otherwise it is press into media, wait, go to connect last media and click it then go back to whichever screen you're in. That is a pain in the **** when setting off which doesn't happen at all, or as often, in many other cars. It's a legitimate gripe.

Are you using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? I think when you connect your phone that way it disconnects the bluetooth audio. See if that's the "sometimes".

I don't use android auto as the resolution on the screen is a joke and I find functionality is lacking. It's not bad, I get better audio quality via it compared to Bluetooth but I don't like the system. So it's not that.

I do find if I don't close the audio player between leaving the car and returning it usually finds the phone. But I find it odd that the phone is paired as a full media device but the car ignores it completely for media unless it's still got the same app open all the time.
