Parking Sensors
My parking sensors are a bit weird, they seem to be slow to react or beep when I get really close. Is there a setting somewhere to start beeping early and not last minute?
Thanks

settings - vehicule/assistance/cam & parking pilot/set warning tones/warn early
I find that the radar doesn't beep loud at all, especially the rear.
I have it at setting 5 and the music volume is automatically turned down, But it's still very hard to hear.
Is this "normal"?

the sound is so soft that when my airco blows very hard (when u just got in the car) i can not
hear the beeps at all
Could also be something wrong with the system, my own system is according top me very audible and when combined with the colored markings on the 360 view it is hard to miss.

My sensors have also gone off when I make a hard turn or a U-turn and a car drives past me. It also happens from time to time when there is a very big truck next to me at a red light (like a semi truck or a truck with a long bed, think of a truck hauling logs kind of thing).

my dealer said for the radar beeps there's a high and low setting via Xentry.
mine was already set to high, and in the car it's set to highest too (5).
So nothing to be done. just turn off radio, AC and the engine before you start parking..
(or do it the old fashioned way and abandon a 3.000 euro system altogether )

Could also be your own hearing?
The system mutes the radio when beeping and I have no issues hearing the beeps over a full blasting AC, and I havnt changed any setting.

in the w213 the front beeps are "ok", but it's the back that's really bad.
dealer said i was not the first to complain...

take a look at the situation in the pictures:
I'm driving backwards while steering to the left.
so the nose goes to the right side where the wall is.
the radar goes into the red, but NO sound at all.
When I then put the car in forward drive it starts to beep
immediately. (but when I put it in reverse again it still does not)
this is just one example.
I find that the radar sometimes beeps excessively,
sometimes too late, sometimes not at all..
IE it's not consistent.
Add to that the very low volume of the beeps, and you get
a system that can't be "trusted"...
thoughts?
Btw: what is the "LIM" notice in the top left corner (pic)
does that mean you get too close to an object.
this also seems to appear randomly...
Totally agree with you. My last W211 and W212 both have clear warning sound and gave confidence in estimating the distance but not with this new car. The beep is too soft
I guess just have to use more different camera angle for parking assistance.
By the way, does Mercedes Benz upgrade the software like the iOS or android to fix & improve the problem??
WTF is it with MB these days? How in the world can this engineering juggernaut totally mess up something as simple as a parking sensor system, especially when they have had great such systems for years? No, they are too busy engineering "Light Up Stars" and "Logo Projectors." Sometimes I wonder just what their priorities really are. There are SO many, extremely simple things that they could do SO much better.

There is nothing wrong with the car or the parking sensors, The system in the W213 and W222 is the sixth generation and it has only improved from the first gen.
If you hit another car its the drivers fault, not the car.
I no longer take anything you say as meaningful. Keep it up and pretty soon, nobody will.

Tell me, how many W213 do you see, drive or work with every day?
How many different cars do you get your input from, other than your own and the stuff you read online?
Again, have you read the text in the display?, "check your surroundings" ?
Never claimed the system was perfect, just that it works as it should, if there is any issues or faults the system will warn you with an instant solid red light and sound once it is activated front or rear.
Would you blame your car if you drove the car into a lake because the navi told you to as well?
