Two things I don't like........
Why in the world isn't the center console finished in the matching wood trim? If they can do it with the "open grain" wood, why not the others? The gloss black looks tacky and is impossible to keep clean. Also, why no heated wood/leather steering wheel? I have one on my 2015 S550 sedan, so why can't they do it on the W213?

Gotta say when I first took delivery in early April I had a few very chilly mornings, The heated wheel, seat and armrests are best ever for me. Much better than just a regular seat heater. I don't look forward to winter but at least that will be there.

I agree on this one too, when I pre ordered my cls, I thought the CF trim would be on the center too......it was not.....instead the piano-impossible to keep clean-black.

And I ordered mine specifically with as much piano black lacquer as possible. But it does scratch very easily as it did during the first month when I wiped my hand across it and my wedding ring touched it's fragile surface. It will be on my next car too though.

We are probably ordering the Designo Titanium Gray/Black interior with Burl Walnut and will probably wrap the console. Will take a look at matching the wood look, but if that doesn't look good, will probably wrap it in gray or silver to match the exterior of the car.

I was complaining about this console when the car first came out. They seem to offer a couple trims with the same material instead of piano black. I suspect the refresh in a couple years will see this changed to match all trims. I think this was an oversight on Mercedes part, and obviously it wasn't an iron clad design decision as they eventually went (partially) backwards on it and matched with some trim options. This current state of affairs just seems like they have cheap'd out and don't want to order the remainder of trim pieces from their supplier.
With regards to the steering wheel, this is again a cheap-o decision. I think they should just manufacture all of them with heated wheels and reduce complexity. It cannot be that expensive and is surely superior to confining interior choices to black for customers who live, or travel, to colder areas.

Centre console is plastic.
The designo pinstripe panels I am not sure however.
