Neurotic GPS
Our 2017 E300 GPS has been acting up very erratically and at times dangerously.
Last Friday on a trip from NYC to Ridgefield CT it
a) couldn't decide if it should go on the East Side of Manhattan or the West Side. I eventually opted for the West Side cross town.
b) When I got to Broadway and was about to do a right turn to head down to the West Side Highway it told me the turn was 1/4 mile ahead.
c) the route took me up Saw Mill River Road towards I684 it then told me to take a exit off Saw Mill River Road and then immediately made me do a convoluted U turn to put me back on the same route it had just taken me off.
This is just plain distracting and dangerous!!! I shouldn't have to worry about the accuracy of my GPS system given what we are charged for having it
On another occasion it had me take the East bound exit off I 295 then realized it was wrong and had to take to North bound exit and then immediately the West bound exit. So I ended up doing 3 or the 4 parts of the clover leaf except the one I needed in the first place.
Really neurotic behavior. The car has gone back to MB and they have reset the system and told me that it can see 9 satellites etc. We go on a road trip on Thursday so we can test it out again>
I would be interested to know if
1) Anyone has had such weird instructions from their GPS
2) Anyone care to recommend a iPhone holder for the E300 as that will be my primary GPS rather than TomTom (which sucks at the best of times)

It seems many people are unhappy with the car's GPS for many different reasons.
Here in europe it seems to work ok, though every now and then it wil say "unknown road" when i'm in a city
and thus is unable to calculate the route.
for my phone i use this:

I have had weird instructions in my E300 before. Not often, but whenever I am driving from Tampa to Orlando on I4, it will randomly tell me to make a left turn at one of the exits as I am passing the overpass for that exit. It's weird because I am going about 75MPH or so and so it only shows up for a few seconds because I am driving so fast, and then it goes back to normal. Next time you take it in see if there are any software updates available for your navigation (I think Mercedes give free navigation updates somewhere between 3-5 years) and for the command system.
