Buy Velcro and use the soft side on the clips of the cover

there are a number of them but if you do a few main ones that hold the cover, it won’t rattle

i did it myself in a parking lot, took me 10 mins

It fits very snug and kinda lifted it a tad, idc at all, it’s tight and never rattled again

I popped this cover off and appears someone already did the felt but it still rattles and it's so annoying. Any other suggestions?

Mine also rattles, but stops when I put my hand on it(weight) so it must be because its somewhat lose and vibration makes it rattle. I will just wedge some felt or a piece of sponge in there and see what will happen.

I just ordered high density foam tape on Amazon. 1/4 wide strips and 1/16” thick. Thinking of taking the top off again and outlining the piece with this foam and see if that helps

fixed at last!

Thanks for this (this is my first time on MBWorld) , it fixed a rattle that was driving me mad; and giving me second thoughts about ever buying a Merc again!
I used some PTFE grease and gave all the plastic tabs a bit of this until i could hear no more squeaking; then cut a bit of speaker cloth for the cover in lieu of the felt piece.

i had it with Mercedes and they wanted to sell me a new £500+ rear view mirror - this is another rattle, will post the fix in another thread!

Finally got this fixed as well. I showed the dealer this exact blog post last year while the car was under warranty and they kept saying they could not replicate and instead replaced the rear view mirror. Of course the noise persisted. At last, the dealer did the felt install last week and it worked like a charm. It's interesting that the dealer made it very clear there was a bulletin of how to fix the problem but not a recall or open service campaign. Just that if the customer complains about the specific problem, here's how to fix it.
Thanks to this post and the attached images, it made it very easy to explain exactly what I wanted done!

Smile Annoying rattling in the dash of my 2017 E 300

I couldn't believe this beautiful car had this annoying rattling sound coming from in the dash that was driving me crazy, no matter how much i turned the music up it got worse. I had beat the dash board to try to make it stop over and over again and pressed on all parts (speaker covers, AC vents, trim etc.) that I thought might be loose but none were. I remember playing with the sound and wanting to get all of the effects of the system and checking all the boxes, so the other day i went back into the sound settings and unchecked the "surround sound box" and suddenly it stopped. The Burmester system is such a quality crystal clear system it does not need the "surround sound" activated if you balance your sound in the Equalizer properly. I couldn't believe it was that simple after which I wanted to stay in my car driving for the rest of the day. I hope this helps the many MB E 300 car lovers in order to make your driving experience of this quality machine much more enjoyable.

yes, I ordered high density foam tape on Amazon. 1/4 wide strips and 1/16” thick. I put it around the dash panel and on the metal clips. No issues since.

@Hennessya Is it possible to send me links what you purchased from Amazon and take a picture where you applied thid on the dash? Actually I removed the dash top cover and drive around a little bit but plastic rattling sound was still coming.

here is the link to what I got from Amazon. Obviously you don’t need to use all 65 feet of it lol. Might be able to find a shorter option but that’s the size and what I used. 1/4” x 1/16”.

Thanks, I don’t understand which part that you applied this foam? As I said after removing the top cover the rattling sounds still coming on my car.

Did you apply it to picture1 or picture2?
