2016 E400 Cabriolet
Pre-Paid Maintenance Warning
My E400 Cabriolet with 14,000 miles was deemed to be “totaled” by another driver 2 weeks ago.
To add “insult to injury”, I called my dealer to determine how to proceed to obtain reimbursement for my remaining two unused services.
Be forewarned, there is no reimbursement. When sold the plan I was never told about this caveat. I am also unable to find any contract in my paperwork to verify, nor online.
Thus my first service (an oil change), cost me $850.

I would never expect a refund for unused portions of any kind of a service contract.
Perhaps the service can be transferred to your replacement car.

Interesting - I was told that in the event that the car was stolen, totaled or traded before the end of the prepaid maintenance term, that the unused balance could be applied to another Mercedes. Also, was told that it was not dealer-specific, so any MB dealer in the US would honor it.
Veromon, I am surprised to hear otherwise, I will read my contract again this weekend - I took the Finance Manager's word for it...
