W213 Wagon vs W212 e63 Wagon

What would you do? I had a W212 wagon that I traded for a W213 sedan. I miss having the wagon. I can get a new 2017 for the same price as a low milage 2013 E63. The AMG is actually slightly less money... I've never owned an AMG but have always wanted one. It has less than 15k miles on it.

Just curious what the general consensus was.

Thanks!

If you live in Europe why not simply get an E43? If you are in the states I would probably get the 400. I don't buy used cars and even less if they are performance variants since they probably have had a rougher life and repair costs will be higher. The 400 wagon is fairly fast and looks like an excellent vehicle all around. Its a pity that in the US its not really equipped to tow and even if equipped its towing is pretty limited. I considered it but it gets pretty pricey so I simply went all in and bought a GLS550. The 550 can tow, fit seven adults, go offroad, has a fantastic ride and is as almost as fast as a 43 model. The only downside is excessive thirst but who's really counting gas if you need its capabilities?

Thanks man. I’m in the US. I had a GL and didn’t love it — the wagon is a better fit for me. The E400 does look sweet. If I can just get the AMG out of me head! :-)

I got the E400 wagon and for about $2K you can chip it which will bring the HP to about 400 from 329 - if you live in a climate that has snow AMG E Wagon is notoriously difficult to drive. I think the chipped E400 is a great mid range alternative without the huge sticker premium. Plus I take the german approach to the car by removing the identifying decals, so E400 is off, 4Matic is off just plain no badge back, I know what I am driving, no one else needs to.
