Production is planned for the third decade (21-28) of February 2018 with actual production completed the second decade of March 2018. Shipping to the LA and prep time at the VPC takes delivery to the end of May.
Interesting how cars ordered by members in the USA are being delayed due to supply constrains for the dual screens. Here in Australia, I placed my order for mine, built date is confirmed for Jan 2018, no word of the production of my car being delayed.

I'm not sure there is a delay in the US. I ordered mine (e400 with P3 and the dual screens) in mid-late October, was given a build date of November 28 (today), and my dealer confirmed that production has started.

I see that the E400 sedan is now shown on the configurator. I ordered my wife's E400 wagon on Oct. 10 and was given a build date of November 30. When your car will be built depends on how many available slots your dealer has for a build, which vary by model. If all goes well, I'm figuring the car's build will be complete on Dec. 10, then it will sit around for up to 5 days waiting for the ship to sail, then 10 days to sail to Baltimore, getting it stateside around Dec. 25. Then, with the holidays and all, it will probably sit at the port in Baltimore through around Jan.5 and then arrive at the dealer around Jan. 10 and get prepped and delivered by around Jan. 12.

Hey man do you know what ship it'll be on? my car might be on the same ship (for Ireland)

I'll call the salesman in a couple of days to see if they started building it on Nov. 30 as he expected. Then, I believe there's a web site where I can track the car's status and progress.
I ordered mine in July, dealer tells me production will be completed Dec 6, expects it to reach Baltimore around the 20th and I might actually have it before Xmas or right after. I’m hopeful. Yesterday I actually test drove the on,y E400 sedan the dealer has received so far. This car is certainly worth the wait After driving numerous E300 service loaners and not liking the engine. I’m hopeful that mine comes with all of the options in P3. Demo I drove had P2, which according to website should have digital dash, but the car didn’t have it.

That's good news on the test drive, and thanks for posting. I too ordered without driving the E400, figuring it would be an improvement over the E300. My build started on Nov 28, so I'm hoping to have by the end of the year!

Very likely all of the service loaners you drove were 2017 P2, which is substantially different in terms of equipment.
2017 P02:
P35 – Lighting Package code
640 – LED Intelligent Headlamps
608 – Adaptive Highbeam Assist
432 – Active Multicontour Seat Package (Driver/Passenger) code
902 – Heated Front Seats Plus
436 – Comfort Front Head Restraint
P21 – Air Balance Package
540 – Power Rear Window Sunshade
So, in 2018 they swapped the Active Multicontour seats for the extra 12" screen, essentially. Personally, I think having the massaging seats included in P2 was a better deal.
All of the service loaners were 2017 E300’s with P1. The 2018 E400 I drove last week had P2, but it did not have the digital screen. If my car arrived without the digital screen and or without HUD, I’m not taking the car...
On a 2018 with P02, it comes with the extra 12" screen. If it's a Q02, it lacks the screen. No two ways about that. I went through this back in August(?) when I ordered my 18 E300. Because of the screen shortages, only the Q02 / Q03 options were available. After many phone calls between the dealer and several Mercedes contacts, they managed to squeak out a P03 for me by deferring delivery of 2x S-classes until later in 2018.
Tried ordering P3 here. Dealer said HUD display not available to be ordered. Also Burmester stereo not included in P3 price. Really?
CALL A DIFFERENT DEALER. It sounds like your dealer has outdated information.
In 2017, Q03 came with everything MINUS the HUD. P03 came WITH the HUD. In 2018, Q03 comes WITH the HUD but lacks the 12.3" screen instrument cluster. 2018 P03 comes with all.
There are 3 stereo options available for the E-Class, Standard (black speaker grilles), Burmester Surround (silver grilles on midrange, black tweeters on front doors), Burmester 3D (silver grilles on all speakers, spinning tweeters, 2x speakers on ceiling). P3 comes with the middle option, Burmester Surround.

my car just came in last week, haven't collected it yet. It has HUD and Widescreen on it. I think on the american cars, standard Burmester is included but not the high end.

If you're in the US, this is incorrect. P03 includes the HUD, 12.3" screen and Burmester stereo...but *not* the 3D stereo with the rotating tweeters iirc.
Patients.... yeah I don't think so. I have not talked to my SA since November. think I will hit him up for a new Netstar paper next week. once a month not to over bearing???? right
only change was the decades moved up, from Decade scheduled 18/03-2 to 18/03-1 and estimated production date moved from 2018/03-2D to -1D. priority changed to 1
