Alternative designo interiors?
Alternative designo interiors?
New to MBWorld and starting to scope out an E400 Wagon, perhaps for a MY2019 order (I tend to plan way out in the future). Not too impressed with the limited choice of interior colors. Even the quilted, two-tone designo interiors shown on the standard configurator don't do much for me. However, I did stumble on the alternative non-quilted designo interiors that don't seem to be widely publicized:

This designo alternative has several colors that do interest me (Amaretto or Light Brown). Does anyone have any experience in custom-ordering these interiors? How long did it take? What was the additional cost? And so on...Thanks for any insight!
PS. Anyone know how to pronounce "designo"?

1. They run about $3k minimum as I understand it. I was also planning on getting a Designo interior as well, but opted for the Macchiato Beige with open-pore Black Ash wood.
2. Designo == Day-Zeen-Yo

That Designo page on mbusa.com is outdated. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of any other Designo options for the E and many other models other than what is offered on the build your own.
Oh - that's disappointing to hear. I'm heading over to a dealership later on this week and will ask about it.
BVC500 is exactly right - that designo page on mbusa.com is a zombie page that applied only for the previous generation of the E-class. Shame on mbusa for leaving it up to distract us newbies. Currently the designo options available are the two that are choices in the build-your-own configurator. I'm going to go check out the designo Black/Titanium Grey Pearl Exclusive Nappa leather option as installed on an E300. The other designo choice (Beige/Saddle Brown) is a bit over the top for my tastes.
