E Class (2016, W213)
Winter driving

Having been an Audi driver for many years with front wheel drive, are there any tips or settings to help drive the Merc in winter conditions? In the UK it’s not usually necessary to change to winter tyres but most cars (eg Jaguar) have a winter setting which tweaks the traction control and gear changes for winter.....does the e-class have anything?

No tips necessary, drives like a tank regardless of conditions.

I'll be putting mine in eco mode when I venture out tomorrow. Lots of throttle pedal movement for not much power increase means it'll be easier to keep traction, it's what I found on my old e.

2018 E300 4Matic.
In Canada, Mercedes cars are 4Matic, and we use winter tires. We then have fun !!

You have got to do it!!! You'll never regret it. Some of my best memories are of SCCA events at the track in the late 50's and early 60's.

My best Ice Traction tires.

My preferred snow tires are the Michelin X-Ice Xi3. They're super for braking on ice.

Ice belongs in cocktails, not on roads.

True, there should be snow on the road, not ice.
