Help required with my E-Class Coupe
Hi,
Sorry for posting this in the Sedan section but my issue is more around the sedan than the coupe.
I bought a new 2017 E-class couple with the command on line and wide screen cockpit. I love the car and its amazing to drive, however I am unhappy with the Apple car play controls. Before I collected the Couple the dealer lent me a 2017 wagon with command on line and wide screen cockpit and it worked really well, easy to control from the steering wheel and the rotary wheel. Everything was a joy to use but not so in mine.
My question is:- should the software/functionality be the same between different variants of the same car ie Coupe/Sedan/Wagon.
I asked the dealer and they said a software update was needed but nothing they have done has made any difference and they had it in 7 times.
Any help or advice would be greatly appricated
My coupe was manufactured in September 2017.

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having an issue. I may have experienced something similar: do the wheel pad or center touch work only intermittently?
If so, I first encountered this issue and resolved it by updating the iOS version on my phone to the latest one. I also made sure I'm using an apple lightning cable, not a different maker.
Since then I've had no problem with it, but then again my car is a 2018 wagon, so your mileage may vary with these two potential solutions.

There is a software difference between early builds and mid year. A huge difference in appearance, speed and functionality. My understanding is it’s not a software update that will solve it. It’s a module issue too. It was enough for me to move into a newer version of the same car. Look around for a newer build and see. I thought my car was the same as everyone else’s until one day by chance I stepped into my buddy’s car which was built mid year. Mine was a very early build.

The dealer recently loaned me a late 2017 convertible and everything worked perfectly, they are suggesting changing parts from the convertible onto mine to see if that fixes my problems, and if so order new parts for mine.
