Buying 2017 used instead of CPO?
I’ve been looking at newer E classes to replace my 2012 E-350 and believe I found the one I want at my local dealership. It’s a 2017 E-300 with 13k miles that they have been using as a loaner. It’s loaded out with the P2 package, active contour, leather seats, panoramic roof, etc.
My concern is that they just want to sell it as used instead of CPO and they are holding firm at $53.5K as the price. I checked KBB and that seems to be $1,500-$2,000 over their recommended price even with all of the options added.
Any advice from folks more experienced here?

bebrewer, that sounds like a nice car - but I would worry about the lack of certification on it. 13K is higher miles than I would expect on a service loaner, so I would also look at a carfax to see if it had a life before it was a service loaner. My dealer typically offers the service loaners as certified cars - and that is what I would look for - I see them in the low $50s on a regular basis.

53.5k is a fair price to me, especially when it comes with p2 package as you mention.
If you like it, buy it. Even they listed it as used, it must be certified tho.

A brand new 2018 E300 with a P2 package that includes a full digital instrument cluster lists for about $61k. Take an additional 8% to 10% discount and the cost difference is about $1,500. I'd buy new.
