Hello. i dont own a W213. my brother owns it. and he has a question. if key battery dies and he is in the middle of nowhere what he can do ?
for example in old school you could put the start stop cap out and use it. but now you cant

 

Not sure where you are located, but I am in the US with a US spec W213.

For the W213, you can pop the key out of the fob and unlock the door. The keyhole on the door is under the door-handle on the driver's door. Once you have the door open, I am not sure if the alarm will sound or not. Next, you put the key in the little slot thing that is under the USB plug to start Apple Car Play (see attached picture, I circled in red where you put the key). That should allow you to start the car and operate it.



If that does not work, try calling Mercedes Roadside to see if they can do anything.

 

Put the key in the spot for it in the front console next to the phone charging pad. The key will work even if the battery is dead.
