spare tire
As there doesn't seem to be enough space to fit a full sized spare tire on a rim, in the trunk floor indentation under the mat, has anyone found a 'compact spare' aka the 'doughnut', which will fit the E213, and under the trunk floor mat ?

It is not possible because the shortest dimension is a bit over 17". A car with upgraded brakes requires a minimum 18" wheel. The area cannot be enlarged because of structural considerations.
