Garage door opener constantly needs to be reprogrammed
Hello all,
I have a 2018 E-300 since January. Before that, I had a 2015 E-350. When my 2018 was delivered, the dealer concierge programmed my remote. Since that time I have had to reprogram my openers approximately every 4 days. This happens on 3 different openers in 2 different locations. These openers worked fine with my E-350 and still work perfectly with my wife's Lexus. The dealer has been useless, first saying that I don't know how to program, and when I reminded them that it was done by their own concierge, then stating that it is a problem with the openers. Really? All of a sudden 3 garage door openers need to be re-linked while my wife's Lexus continues to work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the rolling code is getting out of sync. Program the opener yourself while in your garage where it is easy to hit the button on your opener housing to sync the code. I did that and have not had to reprogram the opener since.

Isn't there more than one button that you can program the garage door on your car?
Have you tried using a different one to see if the same thing happens?
Good piece of information to have if you need to go to the dealer.

This is the procedure that has worked for me and that is not mentioned in the manual.
1-And most important! Unplug the opener!
2- Do the remote learning procedure
3- Plug the opener back in and press the learing button on the opener. The learning light will come on.
4-get back in the car and press the button that was programmed. The garage light will flash.
You're done. The button on the car will now open and close the garage AS LONG AS THE IGNITION IS ON.
Another rookie mistake is to turn the car off and attemp to use the car's button to close the garage, surprise!, it doesnt work! The remote only works with the ignition on! Its a smart safety design, if someone breaks into the car while outside, they cant open your garage.
If this doesnt work, then it dealer time.
