Hitch attachment

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you have installed a hitch for trailer/bike support etc after you bought your Mercedes. My E-class does not have one and now I think it would be useful but I am not sure what the costs might be. Since my car is still in warranty I am guessing I will have to go to Mercedes for the modifications and I was curios if you guys would know of a price estimation. Is there only one model for each car? I would also prefer the hidden one not the one that is always visible(assuming that one still exists and is mounted on new cars)
Any input you could give me would be helpful.

Thanks

No hitch available for US models. I'm sure the are available everywhere else. In Europe it seems every other car has a hitch. Makes sense since pickup type vehicles dont exist.

I guess I should have specified that I am from Europe(appologies since I am still new to the forum). I launched a question to the local dealer in Luxembourg for an estimate and will ask in Germany. When and if I get a price I will post it in case someone else is also curious to do that. I looked at the configurator and it costs 1200 EUR to add it, so I am guessing to do this after buying it it will be around 2000. Let's hope it is close to the configurator price.

I have retrofitted one and it does not come cheap, if really done by the book you also need to replace the Engine cooling fan to a larger one.
I am afraid itll be above 2000

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
I have specified the factory fit towbar on my e break and it was 1100 euro here in france. It is now fully electronic apparently (car is due in june) so unlike my c class it not only drops down or releases to be easily pushed into position but actually electrically locks into place. Previously on a 2012 glk I had the factory fit demountable towbar which was a pain to use. Sometimes the bar fitted really easily another time usually when wet it took a lot of fiddling!
intetested vic you say it is more than just the actual towbar and electrics which ate fitted. Goes some way to explain the high price.......

Hey guys,

I am coming with an update. Just got the invoice for the hitch attachment and Mercedes Luxembourg wanted an astounding 4800 EUR for the entire process(part plus labour).
Bottom line, it is probably cheaper to buy another car to use for these types of situations
