2017 E300 software Updates

Has anyone in the US gotten a software update for their 2017 E300 with the new ambiant lighting features?

Im driving a loaner ‘18 E300 right now and the software in general on the command system looks to have gotten a much cleaner UI than that of what came with the 2017 model year.

Hoping that there is an update to the command system so us ‘17 owners get the new UI looks and ambient lighting features.

To my understanding, that won't be available on 17s. Only 18s and newer get it.

Wow what a disappointment. Is there any particular reason why it won’t be coming to the 17?

Many of the hardware controllers were changed from '17 to '18.

Pretty sure that was answered in post 2.

HaeilHaifa was asking why.

Hardware changes are the reason the '17 MY won't be updated. As to why the hardware was updated, that is anyone's guess - more capable, less costly, lighter, ...

So after a visit to the dealer to get some recalls done, they have updated my navigation software but have told me that there were no command updates available. They did however tell me that they will be automatically pushed to the car when they are available. When I asked them about the features that the '18 has to be brought to the '17, they told me that its all up to Mercedes. The cars use the same HW however the software is different.
