2019 2.0L 4 cyl engine - EQ Boost

Planning to order the 2019 E350. Would like to know more about the 2019 2.0L 4-cylinder Turbo Engine w/ RSG Technology, specifically regarding the EQ Boost. How long has this been in development and/or use. Concerned about this being "bleeding-edge" technology, without a proven track record.

I've only seem the inline 6 ISG for 2019. Will the 4-cyl RSG be available? Some info here...https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...mage=100556250

Based on the cars you drive, you probably live in the USA. MBUSA has announced the E350 will not be offered here in 2019. Just the E300 in 4 cyl versions.
Some recent threads in this forum discuss the change.

Rhetorically I ask, why does MBUSA seem like Mercedes' stepchild for innovations and advancements?

I'm not going to argue you are not right here. I'm pissed about the lack of headlight technology available to other parts of the world, but that isn't MB fault. It's US regulations.
Regulations could be the issue here too. One person suggested engine certification, or it might affect how their US fleet MPG is altered with both E450 and E350 engines slated here (and E55, etc).
Bottom line is it makes them look stupid, which isn't exactly inspiring for how they market themselves.

+1 to what grossmsj said --- Blame the USA, not MBUSA for this, and there's a lot of things I blame MBUSA for.

Keep in mind that much of the world runs on EU regulations or very similar to them. The USA mandates that EVERYTHING be different, even what's on the dashboard. So MB makes an instrument cluster which can be used in all of the countries except the USA, then makes a USA one. Tail lights, head lamps, turn signals, all different in the USA from other countries.

I wanted to get the diesel hybrid back in 2014, even tried to push things along with the appropriate gov't agencies and hit government incompetence at its finest. They're still focused on how many emissions per gallon of fuel are produced vs. emissions per mile. Completely hopeless.
