The BMW 540i interior with analog gauges and a display tacked on the dashboard as an afterthought is why I did not buy one.
I didn't actually ask your opinion at all. I responded (with quote no less) to C3004Matic to comment who said they looked awkward and you chose to add your thoughts. We can just agree to disagree. There are probably thousands upon thousands of E Class owners out there perfectly happy with their analog gauges on the left and the infotainment screen on the right. To me, the only way it would be a big deal is if the all digital cluster made the car drive differently or better. It doesn't. It's just aesthetic.

If you like the dials that is fine my point is the dual screens look better to most if not all buyers. The other issue is that the new command system is made to work its best with the duall screens. I have read multiple complaints on the system being slow, the dual screen has zero issues with response time.

I wanted the dual screen, but wasn't able to get it. But I don't have an issue with the analog gauges and I can assure you there are zero issues whatsoever with Comand response time on my car. I've said this before and I'll say it again. This is really more an aesthetic subject than one that affects the cars operation. Sure, you can do some whizzy-cool things with the digital instrument cluster. But that doesn't make the car drive differently or better. I'm happy for all who were able to get the all digital clusters. What makes me angry is people denigrating others who didn't get the digital display. I'll be interested to see in the 2019 model year how many people actually get it. It's no longer bundled in a P2 or P3 package. It's a stand alone, limited availability option and costs $850 all by itself.

You are absolutely right it has zero effect on the rest of the vehicle. Another issue is that there are probably very few used cars with it since it was quickly restricted since they couldn't keep up with demand. I don't know if it is still restricted at this time.

According to the DOG for 2019, it says "limited availability" but I don't know if they are limiting it to specially ordered cars. My dealer said they can't get it in inventory cars, so I guess that's a form of limiting.
