Ive seen videos of if all the windows and sunroof are open you hold down the air recirculation button and everything closes say before you entering a tunnel. Has anyone had luck getting this to work?

In a quick check of the user manual, this isn't a feature listed in the climate control system as it relates to recirculation. I'll give it a try, but I would think the owner's manual would detail this in some way if was supposed to do as you suggest.

AFAIK "tunnel mode" is not included on US models. I've not tried it in the US. I've used it in the EU.

And that's probably why this feature isn't listed in the Owner's Manual. Thanks for clarifying this.

Americans have been complaining about the lack of tunnel mode here for ages. we have tunnels too!

My 2007 W203 C280 (see my Signature below) had it. My 2015 W205 C300 does not! This is called "de-contenting" (removing features previously available).

used it for the 1st time 2 days ago to avoid smoke from a fire.
it worked perfectly even though I was not in a tunnel... but I was in France!

I agree except this doesnt cost Mercedes any more money. Its all software, and its a program they already have in their hands so it has 0 costs to include it into the US programming.

Not exactly. When there is a change in hardware, there can be considerable costs associated with recoding a program/feature to run in a different environment. COMAND - NTG 1 is now at NTG 5. The next iteration called MBUX will have all new software.
