E vs S air suspension

I own neither models you mentioned, but I am often a passenger in both. I like the ride of the S class much better than the E class. That said, the S class has a longer wheelbase by 8.9 inches. That by itself provides a smoother ride. The S class also has Magic Body Control that scans the road ahead with a stereo camera, and generates forces to counteract bumps and dips as you reach them.

The MBC, and ALL active suspension systems made by BMW, Audi (to be), and MB ONLY use the active part of the suspension to counteract speed humps. They do not do anything for dips and bumps. Just a polite FYI

Sorry really trying to not be rude but that's why I never considered bring up locations as it's not relevant here
While you're right wheelbase is an important determinant of ride quality the intent of this thread was to compare the air suspension feel between the E and S. Sorry if I did not make that clear.

Off topic but MBC was never standard on the S-class, except on the V12 variants (S600, Maybach and S65)
