Mercedes E450 Active Brake Assist

Hello everyone,

I picked up my 2019 Mercedes Benz E450 three weeks ago and I am obviously in love with the car.

Yesterday on the way to work the active brake assist could prevent a collision without me even applying the brakes. Since this is a standard feature on all the new MB models it is really impressive!

This is why I call it the best or nothing!! I thought I would share the video from my dash cam for others. Please stay safe out there and watch other people...

I also have a full Review of the 2019 E450 on my channel in case anyone is interested in the car!

Have a wonderful evening!

That is a great feature, think of all the accidents it saves. It's saved me more than once on both my AMG and S550.

Love seeing a personal example of use. Thanks for sharing. Really puts it in perspective. Be safe out there.

Do you use Early, normal or late as the setting? I have it set at early, figuring it would be less of a hard stop.

To just leave mine on medium. One think I don’t like and I turned off tonight is what use to be called lane keeping assist. I don’t like it when you step a little on the line in the road it pushes you back into the center. This works off the brakes by applying brakes on one side of the car so is very hard on the brakes. Since there is no longer a category called lane keeping assist like on my 2012 I believe it is now under maneuvering assist which is a sub menu under camera and parking. Turned that off and no more getting pushed around by the car when I get on the white sideline.

Im a pretty aggressive driver and I have mine on Late. I still find it intrusive in general, but love the tech. It has saved me more than once. But it has also braked when I didn't need it too.
