Yes. I received the messages on my prior E Classes when driving through major South Florida downpours. The system notice then disappeared when the road conditions improved.

I got this message on the weekend on my 2019 C300....It was early in the morning and there was still some condensation on the windshield, so maybe there was also condensation on the star emblem where the radar is? After driving more, and the car getting direct sunshine, it seems to have resolved. The message did not occur again, and there were no lingering messages that I could see under the Service (if I remember right) menu.
I've had that message before, too, on my 2016 GLC when driving through wet snow, and there was a lot of snow caked up on the star emblem.

Same Messages
I have a 2018 Benz E300 with only 3500 miles. I received the same messages yesterday and today, both times the vehicle lost power. There was a guy behind me and I had to stop because the person in front was turning. I went to accelerate and it would not go and the guy behind me had to slam on his brakes. I had my 7 year in the car and he sits in the back. This is so unsafe. We just had the car towed an hour ago and they gave us a loaner. Since it’s December 22 we probably won’t hear back
until after Christmas. This is the second time we had problems with this car and only had it for 3 1/2 months.

Yes, I also received the same warning earlier this month after my windshield on my 2019 CLS had to be replaced. The problem was diagnosed after it was found that the new MB windshield had two small sized patches affixed to it and had blocked the interior camera. The patches were removed and thats how the problem was solved! The camera having being blocked was sending the message intermittently and affecting our Distronic system as well. Hopefully, your issue will be solved soon.

so dropped off the car and they had to update the software... also mentioned something about changing out the battery as well. hope it fixes the issue as i had the sign pop out randomly around 5 times within a span of a couple of months.

Just picked up the car on Thursday. Haven't seen the signs reappear yet, but at most it would happen randomly like once a week anyways... so if it doesn't happen for like a month, then i will consider it permanently fixed.

did they say what they did? reason I ask is, I know someone who has same problem, dealer says they recoded the sensor, but it’s still happening when it rains...

ok same, keep us posted, maybe a car wash or deluge of rain might see if it’s resolved for you. With water causing the issue, makes me think it’s either an exposed or pinched wiring harness that’s the culprit...

Anyone had this error message when driving fast ?
Warning suddenly came on. Car basically went into limp mode and slowed down.
Restarted 2 x and normal operation returned but CEL stayed on .
On 3rd restart later on light disappeared and back to normal.
. Drove 90 miles after that, including WOT runs and was ok.

This message showed up after I installed my 20 inch rims with new TPMS. Does it have anything to do with the TPMS? I never had it prior to rim installation. The Brake Assist Inoperative showed after 30 mins of driving on the highway. I would appreciate your advice. Thanks

As hard as it may sound, might just be a coincidence. If it shows up again just take to the dealer. .

Just saw this article online that talks about a recall for active brake assist failure.
https://www.cars.com/articles/2019-2...-alert-407119/
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,000 model-year 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43, C63 and C63 S, CLS53, E53, E63 S, S63, S65 and GT53 cars; model-year 2019 Mercedes-Benz C300, CLS450, E300, E450, S450 and S560 cars; model-year 2019 Mercedes-Maybach S560 cars; and model-year 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, GLE350 and GLE450 SUVs, all equipped with the Driver Assistance Package
The Problem: A software error in the radar sensor control unit may impair the functionality of active brake assist, which may not automatically apply partial or full braking as expected, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will update the radar sensor control unit software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Sept. 17. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

I did a check by VIN number for my car and no recalls were listed even though the 2019 E53 is mentioned. I haven’t received any of the warnings shown in this thread.

Inoperative and Active Brake Assist Functions Limited
This warning message just popped up on my E300 this weekend. I barely have 9000 miles on this car and now an issue with the brake system? Sounds like a software bug in the Mercedes family.
Question to those who experienced this before - did you take it into the shop immediately?

2022 GLE 450 (Black on Black)
I had the same message displayed right after my front windshield was replaced on our 2019 CLS 450. It took the dealer three tries to determine that the front camera had to be re-set or coded once the original windshield was replaced. It was the first time that the dealership staff had encountered such message. Lessons Learned by all.
