I am very interested to see what they do with the front of these cars. I just am not sure if I would like the A/CLS class style grille and headlights, at least as I imagine it. If that's what happens.

Me too. It will share a real resemblance to the current E as is the case with each update, but will without question take on the new design cues from the newer GLE and A class cars. We can expect when the S class is ready for it's newer debut, this will be the direction it too goes.

it will most likely get the headlights from the GLE, new taillights, and those hood creases.

I'm glad I got my 2019 E450 Cabriolet. Do not like the lines of the 2020 at all. Don't want a GLE front end.

Mule, yes. But this is the mid-cycle refresh of the W213 and will be out in late 2019 likely as the 2020 model E Class. Not 4 years out. Much more immediate.

My guess is still 2021 model year if this follows precedent. For the E, in the past, the first 4 model years are pre-facelift, the last 3 are post facelift. Just my guess, who knows.

Jeeze I have hard enough time distinguishing between 2016 and 2017.
They look the same to me from distance... I am sure something is different but not enough for these old eyes.

Hope this new one will stand out...

I would think it will be the 2021, but introduced in the 2020 model year, which will be in the 2019 Calendar year. Thus, 4 model years, with the current look and the 2021 will be the mid-cycle face lift.
