Unfortunately the auto industry is dragging their feet when it comes to safety. If they were proactive those dangerous hacks such as bypassing restrictions on video-in-motion would not work.

Agreed. Candidly, I can't understand the legality of video in car at all. We really have lost our minds and forgotten the principal purpose and safety of driving.

I love the concept of OTA upgrades, though. I've already experienced it with the maps updates and I don't see why the main software (comand) of the car can't also be updated this way. I get the safety concerns, but still...it would be nice.

It could be done if the manufacturers spent more effort on security and safety. Unfortunately that hits the bottom line very hard.
