Some doors aren't closing well
So I just picked up my E300 on Thursday and then on Friday I noticed that my passenger side doors need to be closed pretty hard for them to close properly. Has anyone else had this problem?

There's a slight difference between how my driver's door and the front passenger door sounds when it closes and the effort it takes. It's never bothered me enough to have it looked at, and my dealer is pretty good at the "no problem found" game, so I cannot imagine they'd do anything... I think if you just picked the car up, and you are not happy, you should take it back and have them take a look... Congrats on the new car, by the way.

These are all that I have so far. It's been raining most of these days so haven't gotten to take any good ones Not to mention the frustration of how to figure out how to upload these, lol

Congrats Courthaven!! The car is beautiful for sure! On the doors, I have ALWAYS found Mercedes doors require more oomph to close them fully. I also have noticed that over time as they get opened and closed more, the amount of effort becomes less. I also second letting your dealer adjust the door if it bothers you. I just let the tried and true method of letting time make the closing of doors easier.

Yes, I am having this issue. The passenger door needs a lot more force to be closed and some of my passengers complain about it. I took it to the stealership twice - the first time they tried to fix it - without any success. The second time they told me they will have to realign the door which will have an influence on the gaps between the door and other panels so I gave up and left it like that...

In the below thread, I described how when I aligned the passenger door perfectly, the closing force required to close it was far too much so I set the door to protrude very slightly approx 0.7mm. From factory, it protruded around 2mm ( very noticeable ). I suspect if you adjust the door to protrude out a bit, the closing force will be more acceptable. I know this sounds like really bad advice but I suspect the passenger side of the W213 has some tolerance issues somewhere.

If you are good with your hands and have a good eye, might be worth trying to fix it yourself. You just need the T tool, masking tape, marker pens and patience
