Pulled the trigger...regrets

I am so happy to report that I just got home from returning the E450. They gave no resistance at all. Voided the contract and refunded me my drive off payment and was out of there in 30 minutes.
I am so so relieved to keep my Jeep, one day when I’m truly ready to get the MB of my dreams (2-3 year old CPO S Class) I’ll visit them before anywhere else. Truly a classy establishment run by people who understand the human emotional element of buying a car.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and opinions on my situation.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
Hi all - dealer is Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands..cant say enough great things about them. I am so relieved to keep my Jeep..and let someone else go enjoy the E450.
It wasn't that I didn't love the car. Its a very fine automobile and it drives perfectly for my taste. What drew me to the vehicle is that it did have the Drivers Assistance package and Premium Package and 19-inch AMG wheels. Black exterior and the interior was Black/Macchiato Beige MB-Tex and Brown Ash Wood, and also had pano roof. Not a bad car by any stretch. I can see why the E400/E450 have gotten such rave reviews.
But the reality that hit me is..leasing isn't for me. I like seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and my Jeep is very close to being paid off. Prior to my Lexus being totaled I had experienced 4 years of what life with no car payments is like and that is the best feeling. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was in my budget in 2016 and a car that I always have loved growing up. So it was an easy choice for that car. When it comes to MB the truth is the only one that has ever had my heart is the S-Class. I personally don't agree with the big MB star being on the grill..and one thing I always loved about driving the S550 is seeing that star on the hood. Superficial maybe..but it generates a feeling for me. I know better now and got very fortunate to work with amazing people who understood the emotion behind the purchase and wanted to make sure I am completely satisfied.
I'm sure the Jeep isn't everyones cup of tea on here..but I know it makes me happy and I've never regretted purchasing it which is a great thing. One day I'll get the S that gives me that same good feeling.

thats really great to hear that there are still dealerships out there that aren't out to screw us all! Glad you were able to get out of it with little to none resistance.

2023 GLE450, 2021 E350 / Used to drive: 2019 E300, 2021 + 2020 GLE350, 2019 E450 Wagon(s), 2017 E300
Excellent outcome - and really excellent lease payment you had on the E450. Very glad it worked out for you.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Wow thats good and surprising news. Most dealers woulda given you at the very least a hard time. I went the CPO S class route for a couple years. They still do depreciate a lot being a S and the cars are so big. I really like the car, it was a 2015 S550 but would not do it again. You might want to consider either a new E Wagon or Sedan in the Luxury model, those do have the hood ornament and not the big black emblem on the grill. To me my Wagon drives just about as smooth as my S did and is better on gas and not as big and bulky. The performance seems just about as good too.

I also wonder about the Op’s research prior to purchase. Surely you know that you can get the star on the hood with the E450?
Still glad to hear that they took it back no problem!

I'm well aware the S is more expensive.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Sounds just like a big case of buyers remorse. I had that really bad when I bought my e63 amg wagon about a year ago and then drove It straight from RI to Fla and wrote some really bad reviews on it on the amg forums. There were a lot of things with that car for a 122k sticker car that just shouldn’t have been. I grew to like it somewhat as the performance was amazing but there had to be more than that for me and that’s when I traded it for the E450’s wagon and the 2015 S550 for a E450 Canriolet and couldn’t be happier. There’s a car or cars for everyone that fits the bill at that time in their lives.

Yes, fully aware I can get the star on the E450 hood. The problem is I think the luxury package E-Class looks too soft. I wish that they could combine the lower sport bodywork with the traditional grill and hood star in the same way the S-Class is and the E-Class was up until 2013. Trust me my research was thorough. I was temporarily smitten with the car enough to believe I would forget about my feelings on the current sport and luxury packaging.

The item I’d like to see is a stitched dash like in the S. I think the designo might have it but not springing for that interior.
I drove my E450 last month in Germany and now just waiting for it to make it to AZ.

I figured with your post count you knew that. Thanks for putting yourself out there and posting your experience.
