Question What does this dash icon mean?

Note the green radar sensor on the side of the car. It is either green or grey.

Is this the blind spot sensor as described in the manual? And accordingly, does the fact that it is green mean that it is clear, and when it is grey, it means that an object is there?

And candidly, why is it only on one side of the car?

Based on what you posted, it apparently just means Blind Spot Assist is active. Green is Active. Gray is activated, which to me means there is a car in the radar range of the system. Of course you would know if there is a car as the red light would light in the side mirror.

Interesting. This is not present in my 2018 W213.

Indication of blind spot detection is a likely explanation. You should be able to confirm this by noting the green/gray switch, and if this correlates with the red warning triangle in the mirror.

Driving in Germany, in principle, you do not have to worry about being overtaken on inside lane because its illegal, while in US this seems to be the preferred lane where I live

Its possible this is why its only displayed on drivers side. If this is true, it shows that MB has not done the best job in adopting software for different, non European, markets.

In Germany slower traffic MUST use the right lane. Not so in most of the US. With many US roads with 4 and 5 lanes all going in the same direction it would be impossible to keep traffic from passing on the right. The indicator in the side mirrors is more than adequate to monitor the "blind spot".

Is there a comprehensive collection of warning icons for the latest models? Something like the following that I found a few years ago...
