2018 E300 Center Display
So, when I choose ‘navigation’ for my center display area it ONLY gives me the 600 ft. View. Is this normal and correct and if not, how can I change it to one mile? Thank you in advance. |
You probably have auto zoom enabled. From the NAV screen, use comand, right push the center knob, scroll down to settings and click. Auto zoom should be somewhere in there. Disable it.

I use Navigation on the left third of the center screen, radio in the center. Wondered why the nav screen was 600 feet. Now I know!
However, when using navigation, the auto zoom feature is nice when you come to make turns. Hate to lose that feature. I know I should use apple play and google maps instead of the built in navigation system! |
If you press the nav button you can adjust the scale for a larger viewing area. When done press the radio button to return to the split screen. IIRC this can be done via voice command as well.

I tried that but it still returned to 600 ft. I have one other suggestion to try tomorrow and if that fails, I’ll swing by service. Thank you. |
Sometimes it is .25 miles but most of the time, at least for me, it is still 600 ft. even on the highway, regardless of what I set in the main navigation screen. Plus, I cannot figure out a way to change the size of it. It seems to have a mind of its own.
Can anyone help? |

Can anyone help? Assuming you mean the part which I indicated with the red arrow in the picture it indeed has a mind of its own. You can not change the zoom factor yourself, it is autozoom depending on your speed. |
No I am talking about the main screen where you have the radio. (you picture shows the screen as 100% navigation) The screen to the left of the radio you have four settings:
1) Blank 2) Fuel consumption 3) Clock 4) Navigation I also have the digital screen that you have pictured. I have mine set to "Classic". The picture you have posted I believe is the progressive. |

What about when you are driving in the highway, is it still 600 ft or does it adjust outwards a bit?

I'm now noticing what you mean. I can adjust auto zoom on and off on main NAV display, but I'm unable to adjust it when on the media/radio screen, for example, and it occupies the left portion.
|
NYCEBO:
This is exactly what happens to me: the screen next to radio screen stays at 600 feet regardless of what I do to the navigation screen - the large screen when in navigation mode - you call the media/radio screen. I am going to Vermont today and will be both on the Interstate and rural roads. I will report back as to whether the screen changes from 600 feet. |

Once on the interstate or rural roads the screen goes from 600ft to .25 miles -but no further. |

I had high hopes for the dynamic option, thinking that it would show a lot more interesting info. Alas, it just shows an antenna for radio, the android logo for Android Auto, etc. Candidly, I would love it if the engine data summary could slot in there. Oh well. Maybe the NAV auto zoom improves with a software update. |

This morning the screen was at .5 miles! However, withing 2 miles it went back to 600 feet. This was in local driving in my town - not on the interstate or rural roads.
I still cannot figure out what is happening! |

The techs normally will check for TIPS and other recall bulletins only. Good luck. |
Doubt that is a solution: I picked up my car on December 27, 2018 - less than 3 weeks ago.
After the update on your car, were you able to adjust the nav screen - that is the 1/3 screen to the left of the main screen? (The screen that appears when you have the radio on - not the screen when you are in navigation mode) If so, please post how you were able to do it. |
