S213 subwoofer enclosure build
So I tried a traditional MDF-enclosure under the storage compartment floor but that didnt work out very well, the lid rattled and dampened the sound.
I sold that enclosure and will instead try to make a sealed fibreglass enclosure. The plan is a 8, 10" or maybe a 12" woofer, stealthy installed integrated in the small space to the left in the trunk space. Hopefully I will find a mat similar to the OE one. Panel removed https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...86a2edab2e.jpg Taping the panel to be able to apply the resin and fibreglass, the box will sit flush with the rear edge I will then place the speaker ring making it protrude about two inches. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...0bf1761a6f.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...337707888c.jpg |
Looks like quite the project. Hope you'll keep us posted on your progress - I'm interested to see how this turns out.

oh - would love something like this.

Five layers of fibreglass and resin, cleaned it up and made a rough cut.
Now to fit the MDF-ring and start molding the front https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...5490ad1dbf.jpg |
Looks great, looking forward to the end result.
