Safety Recall re fuel line
Safety Recall re fuel line
Just seen this on UK forum and wondered if others had had it? Recall notice for W213 E220. This is the relevant bit:
"We have established that on some cars it is possible that the routing of a fuel hose in the engine compartment may not match the current series production specification. As a result, the hose may rub against adjacent components and become damaged. Should this occur, a fuel leak may develop and a noticeable fuel odour may be detected. In addition, in the event of continuing damage to the hose, a fall in the fuel pressure could lead to the engine cutting out during operation."
Apparently it's a one hour job to check and replace if necessary.

Got this letter for my E220d in NZ. The dealer did the work while I waited and ended up replacing the fuel line,
This actually happened to me on my 2017 E300. The fuel smell was awful in the cabin.....Took them some time to get all the odor out. Was a 5 day service for me until they finally found what was wrong.
