Well, I'll be darned. It is the MB version of the organized crime release pull. I guess if I was an 8 year old occupying the third row seat, I could have figured that that out. Especially the pull TWICE part. I like my wagon very much. Its my second MB wagon, but at times I think MB engages in complexity for complexity's sake.

I would like to start a poll. How many wagon owners have ever used the third seat, and how much do you think it costs. I suppose in countries where the third seat is an option we could find out how much it costs and thus adds to the MSRP of NA cars.

Lastly, and this is admittedly off topic. Any scuttlebutt on how the All-Terrain is going over?

MB E Series Wagons seem to have a few inscrutable features. There is a remote control button on the top of the right rear wheel arch in the cargo area, that I can't figure out. There is a pictograph that is completely incomprehensible to me. I know. Get out the manual.

On the subject of cubbies. I can't figure out the intentions behind the insert in the passenger door well. Two sections, one with a swirl into the other, both with bottom indentations. And then why is the insert in the Drivers door different. One compartment instead of two, no swirl design. There must be some thinking behind these designs but who's to know.
I will promptly explain to you what the holes in the doors are for! its for compact umbrella storage A very British must have!

I'll go look right now. Jaguars have straps in the "boot" for umbrellas.

Is there any risk of the stuff you put there falling out BEHIND the glove box when the door is closed?
