Rebooting Command

Does anyone know how to reboot the Command system when it acts up while you are driving? On my previous Mercedes, I could reboot Command by holding down the CD eject button for 10-15 seconds. On my 2019 E300, there is no CD player, so how do you manually reboot the Command system?

Does this reboot erase everything like a system reset?

What do you mean "off" button? Don't have any off button on 2019 Mercedes command system I know of.

As far as I know it's a reboot like you would restart your PC. I'm not completely sure which data are saved, But maybe Egon can confirm.

The command system rebooted perfectly as you OP's had instructed in your posts. Unfortunately, it hasn't solved my issue of the audio not fading when NAV announcements come on. Even the dealership couldn't figure it out.

I keep trying to problem solve.

Not being sarcastic at all. I thought a rebooting of the command system would help with my problem of my car not fading music properly when NAV announcements come on. I was hoping for a glitch in the Command system. It didn't fix the problem.

Rebooting instructions given by the OP's worked as described. It reboots the COMMAND without any data loss.

It does not work for me. I've check and unchecked it several times to no avail. I tried accessing via dealer settings, no help there. I've taken it to the dealership and they can't figure it out.

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes the radio/cd/anything should significantly lower the volume when the navigation gives directions unless you are on the phone.
Good luck.

This is the W213 forum. You will get a better response if you post in the CLK forum. (W209?)

If you just turn it off momentarily, it doesn't work. You have to hold the button down and not release it until the screen goes black. Don't stop pressing until the screen goes black. That works for the MBUX on my GLB 35.

One solution to that is to tell the NAV system to STFU! That's easy — while the system is making an audible announcement, just press the button that silences the audio system — you'll still hear your music if you have it on, but the annoying "turn left in 100 feet" announcements will be gone. :
