Not really a surprise, as IM sure they use MBTEX on the thigh bolster area on the side of the seat bottoms so it lasts longer. On my Lexus, I could tell these areas were different material because the color was different in the sunlight.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I know my Cabriolet has different material than the pure MB tex in my wagon as the Cab has the multicontour seat option, the material is softer than the MB tex in the wagon. I don't believe though it was ever billed though as being leather as I'm sure it's a conglomeration of things as stated above. I do feel the MB tex in wagon is tougher though and will hold up better than the material used in my Cabriolet. Thats one of the reasons I paid 1000 extra for a warranty that covers interior and exterior, if I get blue jeans blue transfer onto the white int the extra warrantee I have will cover it, or say a flock of birds turds all over my car the warranty should cover that too.

i could not understand the issue here. the leather is not real leather. it's synthetic. i believe that it will always have some kind of plastic derivative in the formula. the issue could be it MB says that it is full leather and then place some parts not in leather-like material.

The MB Tex on current models appears to be more softer in my opinion. I possess a 17 E300 and totally hate the creases in my driver seat that have formed. I previously owned a 2014 E350 and creases never formed on the seat.
