Internet in the Car finally working!
After a month with no Mercedes Me and 4 months of no Internet in the Car, both Mercedes and Vodafone finally ‘talked’ to each other and realised a setting was wrong in their records and the Hermes module. That was reset remotely, all records updated and now everything works as it should. 😀.
It took daily emails to the Netherlands (where Mercedes Me technical team are based) and regular phone calls, but got there in the end.
Patience they say is a virtue!

Congrats my friend. You'll soon see what you were missing...which is to say not that much. But, in fairness, I do use remote start at least once a week.

Thank you - it was more a frustration that something that should work didn’t and no-one seemed to understand why.
i do some very long journey’s and my good lady has a none cellular iPad so the hotspot may come in useful. We get quite a fast 4G LTE in the UK.

Great, I went through something similar myself and finally just mine up and running a few days ago, I pretty much had to figure it out myself, tech support was of no use to me. They kept opening and closing case after case and saying they'd call back to check on things and never did. Whoever it is Benz is hiring to the the USA tech support should be fired.

Up until now, Mercedes has been putting 3G in the w213, which is rubbish. Best to use your 4G mobile as a hotspot as the Mercedes hot spot is slow as molasses...

Problem using phone as hotspot is signal to phone is not as good (in my experience) inside car and of course can only be associated with one device at a time, whereas car hotspot can have multiple devices connected to it.

I have the 4G module and trialled it for a month on Vodafone.
Ehh, can anyone actually tell me what it does? I can't see why I would fork out €100+ per year for the connection when my phone can handle all data needs? I know it enables a hotspot and it worked for me but I can't see the benefit as it's just me and the missus, and she just picked up her new E Class coupe so 99% of the time I'm driving, it's me alone. I got the iPhone XR last weekend on a new Vodafone plan with a large data package so I can't see the need for a car plan.
Am I missing something? I have a FOMO going on here!

Not missing much IMO. If you have a family that makes use of I-pads, etc in the car I can see it ...outside of that, not so much.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I have unlimited data on my phone and didn't really need the data in the car so I cancelled the data tariff with ATT in my Wagon, that was when the mercedes me app stopped working for 2 months, I got back the 1 gig plan for $10.00 a month and the mercedes me app started working again. It's not suppose to be this way but it is. I mentioned it to mercedes me in a email I'd got from them about my case number when I was trying to get the app working, like usual never heard anything back from them so I guess for now I'll just keep this 10 dollar a month plan and not use much data so the mercedes me app keeps working as I like having that in the Wagon.

Mobile hotspot
My car doesn't allow me to use my mobile hotspot since I have the Hermes communication module installed in my car. Do you have a solution?

You could use it standalone, but that only allows one device to be tethered at a time, whereas Mercedes allows many devices to be tethered simultaneously. Great if you have s carful with none SIM iPads. The speed in mine is very fast and always seems to have a strong connection.

Mine has 4G LTE in the Hermes Module. As I understand it you cannot use your mobile as a hotspot through the cars system if you have the Hermes Comms Module.
