2017 Command Updated
Hello everyone,
Recently, the command on my '17 E300 has been acting extremely slow, sometimes timing out and going all black until it reboots again. I took it to the dealer yesterday to get some warranty work done on the command, a malfunctioning auxiliary battery, steering wheel not able to tilt (3rd time having this problem!), and a nav map update.
Today, I picked the car up with everything fixed and noticed that my command software has been updated to the newest version found in '18 & '19 cars. I noticed a huge difference in the responsiveness of the command software and all of the visual changes look great too (makes you want to use the touchpad more often). There are also some new features within the command settings that weren't available to me before.
Just wanted to share this with any '17 owners out there.
Unfortunately, because we don't receive OTA updates in the U.S., we must resort to taking our cars to the dealer to do the update.

7) I can now rewind SiriusXM!

It’s unfortunate that the 17’s doesn’t have the over the air update however it’s still great that we can at least take it in to be done. I was pretty tickled off that we would have been stuck after paying this much money. The only thing I like about Tesla. Hopefully with the EQC and newer models we will receive full features updates. I have been driving MB’s for almost 20 years and hopefully can convince myself to keep my car until they do that unless I decided to lease again. Only 2 options I didn’t get on my car were heated steering wheel and airmatic because it was a car on the lot and now
ordered. I have always ordered my cars but couldn’t not resist the great deal I received on mine

Pretty cool, had mine done today. I would advise everyone to have it done. BTW MB will not volunteer to have it done unless you take your car in for service or take your car in and tell them you need to have it done due to issues with your command system.

Navigation updates are per VIN and what’s noted in the VMI on your car. If your VMI does not have a update update, dealer will not update just like the ECU update. It’s per the car’s VIN and VMI.
