Changing subwoofer in E-CLASS

Hi! I have an E220D 2018 with the standard sound system and I really want some more bass. I have seen that rainbow makes plug and play 8" bass speakers. Since I only have 1 bass speaker atm, can I just buy one of the rainbow speaker and put in so that I have standard bass speaker on passenger side and rainbow on the driver side? If I would have gone with the burmester I would have had 2 bass speakers but since I have standard system I only have one. My question is, how do I remove the carpet and install the new bass speaker and will I hear any more bass?

Thanks in advance, I'm new so if I placed this in the wrong section please move me

So adding more draw to your system requires more electricity to provide it. If you overload your stock wiring and fuses, they will overheat and blow. You MAY need a bigger amplifier or add capacitors to support the extra output your added speaker will demand.

but maybe the stock setup can support it??? Idk that, you need to look at the specs of the car.

i am not a good person for this, I would go on a speaker forum and see what people can provide to you there.

honestly why don’t you go to a shop and do this? this is an expensive car, it’s no hoopdee lol

just changing out the speaker won't do much, if anything. To make more bass sound, you will need more power. That means you would need to add an additional amplifier to drive the new speaker. If you just add another speaker, all you are doing is spreading the power of the current amplifier to two speakers instead of one. Each will get half the power, and the total system power remains as it now is. There is no way that adding speakers will cause your present amplifier to output more power.

Everyone who has successfully added real bass has had to add another amplifier. That's just how it is -- there is no such thing as a free lunch. Save your money until you want to have somebody do the entire job.

Can the same be done with a burmester system? The bass is very lackluster in it and more of a rumble.
