E43 front strut TSB/recall
The last time I serviced my E43 I was informed the front struts were recalled. I never had a problem. They were replaced yesterday. Just a heads up it takes a full day to replace them so plan accordingly.
Again, mine never had an issue and there is no difference in how the car performs. Does anyone know what the issue was? I welcome getting new struts at 30k since I know they are known to fail sooner or later and they are, of course, a pricey repair.
I got a GLC as a loaner and was surprised at what a nice small SUV it is, quiet,comfy and handles very well. The 4cyl provides very good performance. The only shortcoming is that fuel economy could be better, its hwy mpg was lower than the E43. Still an excellent SUV overall.
