2019 E53 AMG
Question for 2019 450 owners

Quick question for you guys..I bought a 19 E53 and love it. I never did test drive a 450 because of the deal I recieved which was well below sticker combined with my dealer not having a 450. If not for that I would have been all over one though. I was playing around in the benz site and noticed when building a E450 there is air body control.

Does this make for a smoother ride than the 53?

Thanks

Air Body Control is very smooth in mine, but I do not have the same stiff suspension as an AMG. Nor do I have runflats so difficult to say which contributes most to the silky smooth ride. Probably a combination of all of them.

The settings for the airsuspension of AMG models are stiffer then those of the luxury versions with Air Body Control.

2021 Mercedes Benz e450 Wagon
I'm confused by the OP's question. Any 450 is going to be smoother than the 53. I have the E450 wagon with air suspension in the rear by default and am stunned by how well it handles AND yet soaks up bumps and seams in the road. Having just driven a 53 for fun a week or two ago, it is a significantly stiffer suspension. If one lived in Florida or Europe, it's a FUN, FUN, FUN (til daddy takes the Tbird away) car. But in the tri-state area, our roads are just utter garbage and it would infuriate me. Indeed, I almost never drive my little convertible anymore for this very reason. In contrast, the 450 is a dream boat that can still tuck corners (with a little coaxing).

Can help make some room for you with that little convertible.... I’ll store it here in my garage & drive it for you to keep it running well.

If I understand correctly you have the current W213 Estate, but do not have run-flats. What type of tyres do you have? Do you have a spare? If so what kind? Where do you keep it? A compressor kit? Thank you.

I do have a 2019 Estate it is Premium Plus model and it did not come with run-flats. It has Hankook Evo 245/45 18’s as MB OEM spec. It does not have a spare but came with the MB TireFit kit (compressor and solution). Tyres are very quiet, smooth, seem to be helping with economy (av >54 mpg), and are showing hardly any wear after 5k miles. Very happy all round 😀
