I've ordered a new E300 Coupe in the UK, for delivery Feb 2020 and I checked the Mercedes Benz online configuration tool and it appears that the C300 Coupe has around 13 or 14 bhp more power compared with the E300 coupe.

Seems odd to me, also considering that most other Eurpoean Mercedes websites have listed the E300 with the higher output.

Could it be an error with the website or is it that the UK are behind with updating the E300 engines??

Quite confusing really.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

I can't say what is available in the UK, but the US will get the E350 sedan for 2020, which uses the same 255 hp engine as in the 2019 C300, whereas the 2019 E300 has the older 241 hp engine. It may well be the same with the Coupe, but I don't know that.

European e300 is us e350. European e350 has 299hp from the m264.

When I look it says it has 258 hp. If its my2020 it should be the more powerful version

Yeah I saw a post online about the US getting the E350. Bit of a shame if the UK doesnt get any upgrade, especially when every other European country has the 258bhp engine.

Just have to hope that the UK get a nice upgrade in 2020 when I take delivery of mine.

Yep, European models have it listed as 258hp, just not the UK .

Maybe it's a typo and Mercedes havent updated the UK site. I can only hope lol. I'm expecting delivery in 2020 so maybe things will change until then. We'll see...

To simplify things, the more powerful 258ps found in the c300 in uk and e300 in some market is codename M264 engine, and it is an updated engine from the old M274 engine that is found in the e300 in uk which produces 245ps.

but it is more likely that it is a typo on the uk site and that it will get the 258hp m264 as the rest of the world. Just ask your dealer to clarify.
