Considering a 2017 W213 E300

Hi Guys,

I'm considering buy a 2017 (03/17) E300. I've been driving a W124 for the last 8 years. Before that a W201 and before that a W126.

The car is a CPO model and has about 45K on the odometer.

I was also looking at W212 E250 Bluetec's.

How are these W213's treating you guys? Problematic? OK? Have they fixed the new model production problems by 03/17?

The W213 I am looking at does not have the ventilated seat option. I'm curious how bad that would be to add?

Looking for some advice/input/thoughts.

My 2017 was built in November of 2016 and other than one odd issue on delivery, it was trouble free for three years. Just moved to a 2019 and nothing but good things to say about the 2017 E300 I had. You will want to be sure they update COMAND with the latest software - I think it speeded up a bit in later versions.

Mine has been rock solid, not a single issue. I do think the 2.0 liter engine is anemic though, it's good around town but certainly is weak when trying to pass on the freeway.

I wouldn't sweat the ventilated seats, I can hardly notice a difference when they are on. Certainly wouldn't pass on a car because they were not optioned.

Given that two cars have the same options what improvements do you see in the newer model?

MIke.

Primarily the improvements were in software functionality and menus. There was an electronics hardware change so the 2017 models cannot use the newer software. The same is true between the 2018 and 2019 models.
