1973 corvette mod (FS)
Talking Purchase advice

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to MB and have been lurking for a while. Former BMW 550i Drive, Corvette C7 and still have my 73 modified corvette.
DD is a GMC Denali.

Looking to sell the 1973 and get a convertible that can fit the kids in a pinch.
I'm stuck between waiting for the 2021 BMW 440i xdrive convertible which nobody knows what it will have for specs vs 2020 MB E 450 4Matic or AMG E53 4Matic (all models convertibles)

Cost will likely be 60-70 for the BMW, 70-80 for the E450 and 90+ for the AMG.

So my questions after having driven this year's models of the 440i xdrive and the mb 450 and AMG, I like the tech and interior better on the MB, but the performance of the BMW is not far off from the e 450 but for a significant cost increase. Obviously the AMG E53 has the best of both, but at a higher cost.

For anyone that has considered the other cars in this style, what made you choose the MB? I am pretty sold on the E-450 or AMG E53, but my wife of course thinks that the extra $$ is not worth it. (that and she doesn't want to get into the back seats of either.

I am looking at doing a custom order to get exactly what I want, and I am in no rush.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. The big problem is that the current BMW 440 series cannot compare to the current E series. So not sure if I should wait it out or get the E since I don't like 1st model years anyway.

Appreciate any guidance. Thanks

That's not an easy choice. The 4 series is not a competitor with the E class. It's on the same chassis as the 3 series and even the new version will be as well. The c-class convertible would be more of an apples to apples comparison. If you're looking at the E-class as a comparison, the 4 series will likely come up short in a number of categories except for price as many cars in a higher class category might.

.
The E class competes directly with the 5 Series. I own both - E class is town car and 5 Series is road car..

Thanks, I see my problem. But if I’m looking at a convertible then it’s either then 4 or 8 series now as the 6 disappeared from the US. That would have been a better comparison.
