Does Anyone Have an Oil Chart for an E400?
I think the right oil for an E400 is Mobil 1 10W40 but I'm not sure. Does anyone have an oil chart for an E400. The manual just says it must meet specification 229.5 or 229.6 but it doesn't say what grade.

Mobil 1 FS 0W40 meets 229.3 and 229.5 specs.
Mobil 1 FS 5W50 meets 229.1 and 229.3 specs.
I use 5W50 that my dealer provides at each oil change. I've never had to add oil to any of the cars I've owned.

There isn't a single manufacturer of 10w40 that meets MB spec 229.5 or 229.6. Basically Mobil 1 0w40 or Castrol 0w40 is pretty popular. Mobil usually does some kind of $12 rebate on a 5 quart jug sometime between April - September.
