Galloping Wipers
Okay, not quite galloping, but during lighter rain, my wipers hop the last third of the way across the windshield. It happened to me 3.5 weeks ago, when driving the new car from the dealer's to home, and happens now. So everything should be relatively "clean". I've heard about waxing windshields (ceramic or otherwise), etc. but what should I do to settle my wipers down to a nice wipe. They are, after all, WIPERS, not HOPPERS. ;-)

My car did that when it was new. Over time, it got better for some reason. Oddly enough, I had a loaner for my recent service that only had about 1500 miles on it, and it did the same thing.
The dealer claimed to have replaced the wipers once to attempt to fix it, but it didn't matter. The only way I could make it temporarily stop was to spray some washer fluid. I could also swear it got better when I refilled the washer fluid with plain cheap Meijers brand.
I don't buy into the idea that I need some sort of special care process for my windshield. IMO, it the wipers are relatively new, they should just work.
Someone posted the following link on this forum for Bosch wipers. If they have them for your vehicle, it might be worth a shot.

Happens to me all the time - even after the dealer replaced my blades.
Try using the windshield washer. I use "plain jane" windshield washer fluid which helps.
Other times the wipers work perfectly.
I have not figured out why they work and why they do not work.
One of Life's great mysteries!

This is an issue that plagues pretty much every new Benz and has for many years. I've yet to find a fix.. tried everything from adjusting angle of the arms, all different blades, dealer cleaned windshield with OEM cleaner, claybar windshield, polish.. nothing has ever solved it. It's ridiculous.

I'd have the dealer check the wiper arms to make sure they haven't loosened. Did you recently have the windshield replaced, by chance? Might not be the same thing I'm thinking, but mine did this - kind of a jerking motion that eventually caused one arm to just stop working (while driving, in the rain - fortunately passenger side). Dealer took care of it.
