Record button grayed out on Media in Command unit

Record button grayed out on Media in Command unit
Have a 2016 E350 I have saved about 10 cds to the hard dive and then all of a sudden was unable to add any more as the ‘Rec’ button was grayed out. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Also does anyone know the space capacity on these drives and the amount of cd’s it can retain? The average playing time on the disks I’m recording is about 45mins

Just like the other thread you started on this, BOTH belong on the W212 forum.
As Konigstiger pointed out on your other thread, the hard drive accommodates ROUGHLY a dozen CDs. The actual amount of CDs you can record will vary with the amount of data on each. Some CDs have 25 minutes of song data, some contain up to an hour. The data capacity in the HD is a finite, fixed amount. So you will get fewer that 12 CDs on the HD if they are longer. Simple enough.
You write that you have "about" 10 CDs stored. Perhaps you should inventory for a more precise count.
Try deleting one of the CDs to see it that frees up some space so the record light returns.
