2020 E350 Social Distancing
Hi everyone, I just took delivery for my folks on a new E350 with specs in the signature. Quick question what do I need to set up for them before they "take delivery" from me? I didn't want to be at dealer too long to learn everything so I'm trying to handle. I just want to make sure that nothing is missed and it's as easy as possible for them. Here's my list, but please add more or give tips...thanks in advance!
* Garage Door
* Phone connect
* Seat mirror settings
* Merecedes me (any tips?)
* Dashcam/Radar already hard wired (escort combo which is great BTW)
* Tint
* Spare tire -- there is none, runflats (still reading about pros/cons) do they need to register with MB for roadside? AAA?
* How does the ambient lighting work?

Very thoughtful of you to prep the car for your parents. My thoughts are in red (order jumbled to group similar tasks)...
Add... Purchase/install aftermarket floor mats and trunk liner, if desired.
Add... Set-up trunk... Anything that can be placed in trunk (transfer of previous car items like tool kit, tire pressure gauge, jumper cables, umbrellas, etc.)
Add... Record some tunes you know they will like on a 64gb USB thumb drive and place in the dash USB port.
Add... Add a small pack of face masks and hand sanitizer in the console storage.

* Garage Door Have parents give you a garage remote in advance so you can program it on arrival at their place.. Must be done there.
* Seat mirror settings Provided you are the same size and build as the principal driver, you can set general seat/mirror positions. They can fine tune themselves as the controls are relatively intuitive. Be sure to set the passenger side backup mirror position.
* Phone connect and * Merecedes me (any tips?) If parents are married to their phones, this will need be done in the driveway among the last items completed
* Do they need to register with MB for roadside? AAA? They can call AAA about their existing account, You can register with MB "Connect Services" when you set up Mercedes Me
* Dashcam/Radar already hard wired (escort combo which is great BTW) Ask parents if this is needed. A windshield mount (not hard-wired) will work for the near term.
* Tint Easy enough to have this done first after you take delivery if going to a tint ship (if shop is open). The expensive option is to have dealer install tint (as they are open)
* Spare tire -- there is none, runflats (still reading about pros/cons) Nothing to be done here. They are unlikely to need a spare for some time if just making local trips for groceries during "Stay at Home"
* How does the ambient lighting work? Hardly important, but if desired, set it for amber.. the most pleasing hue for older folks. They can play later.
