Used E300 - Ambient Lighting Out Half Way
Hello,
I bought a used 2017 E class Mercedes Benz with 58,000 miles on it. Upon taking at home, because it was the daytime, I thought nothing of it, the ambient lighting on the left hand driver side is out. The bulbs work all up until the middle Dash. What is the best solution to go about fixing this, is this something I should do on my own?
Did a system scan and also got this.
I attached pictures.

I would say that its most likely the wire or the little led circuitboard where the led is mounted that is faulty. Just take the car apart and look for yourself.

Pull trim, check connections/diodes. If fine depending on your vehicle may need to check cockpit harness and/or for ambient CU software update, need VIN to confirm if so equipped.

Easy fix
I bought it from the dealership like that. Took it to a foreign Motors specialist and they recognized that when the private dealership replaced the cabin filter, they never plugged the cable back in. It was on the drivers side. Works like a charm now.

For the 2017 e43 there’s a plug by the foot well and mine was disconnected so someone plugged it back for me and now ambient light works flawlessly again. Thank you for your help!
