2019 MB E450 Wagon
2019 E450 wagon - suspension & exhaust

Good day all,

I’m a new MB owner and just picked up a ‘19 E450 wagon for the family and the modding has begun! Installed an incredible tune last week from Eurocharged just outside of Toronto. On a quick test drive, I quickly dropped a 4.4 second 0-60. Impressed!

That said, I’m looking for two further upgrades to satisfy my yearning:

1) A valved cat-back exhaust system - can’t find any system marked as compatible with this vehicle. Not one. Am I wrong to be searching for W213/S213? Is there any cross-compatibility with other models?

2) The car needs to be lowered. I’d love a coilover setup that would allow me to lift it for winter and drop it for summer but I’d settle for springs if I have no other choice. Also considering a full air suspension setup but the cost and space are both concerns. As above, online and forum searches yielded little and I am ignorant of cross compatibility with other models.

If anyone could chip in with some guidance/advice/experience, it would be tremendously appreciated.

Thanks!

2019 MB E450 Wagon
Sorry for the double post.

This car is either an orphan with the aftermarket world or is too new for parts support. Several vendors I have reached out to directly have indicated zero interest in supporting this platform.

H&R, Bilstein on the suspension side. ArmyTrix and FI on the exhaust side.

What a shame!

This and that.
I know this is an old thread and this likely doesn't help but I lowered my 2019 E450 Coupe on H&R springs. I am also searching for exhaust options but nothing so far. I think modding the original by doing a muffler delete or resonator or something is going to be the only option - but then I am worried about it sounding like crap.

Your 2019 E-class wagon has rear air suspension that maintains the rear of the vehicle keeps level even if hauling a heavy load in the cargo area. Not sure the impact with adding coilovers to this system,

When (not if) the rear air suspension does go bad (leaks, cracks, etc.) can it be replaced with regular springs (as in, no more air suspension)? If so, has this be done before and what will the impact be, if any?

Can you put an E53 exhaust system on the E450? Isn't it the same basic engine?
Some time ago I thought I saw some European tuners offering exhaust systems for the S213 E53. I think the E53 also has a performance exhaust upgrade option from Mercedes (although I have no idea if it fits the S213 wagon, or the E450 engine).
The car in this video looks like a S213 wagon...... https://tuning-wheels-exhaust.com/wp...e43-e53amg.mp4
Sorry for no-answer response.

The Air Body Control air suspension was an option on E450 Wagons, at least in the USA.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
The rear air suspension is std equipment on the wagon but if the air body control option is added that adds air suspension to the front end.

You sound very sure of this and you are probably right, but where did you hear this? This is the first I am ever hearing it. I’ve never seen it mentioned anywhere else before.

It was listed as standard equipment on mbusa.com when the vehicle was current production.

Only the wagons have air suspension in the rear as standard equipment. The sedans have regular springs unless the Airmatic option is selected in which case they have air springs on all four corners. My guess is the reason they made self leveling air springs std on the rear of the wagons is to level the car should people load up the back of the car with bricks or something like that. I kinda wish my car did have the air springs on the front end, maybe it would be less likely to bottom out as it does on harsh bumps.

E450 Wagon
Hey, I am searching for similar mods for my 2020 E450 Wagon. Brabus has some legit mods (full set). Exhaust costs about $2800 (not including shipping or tax) and I can't remember how much for the suspension, might be around $2K. See link for products: https://www.brabus.com/en/tuning/ove...-amg-line.html. You can send price quote request through their website.

I have an E450 Wagon that I custom ordered myself. I skipped over the air body control option but the rear end does have air suspension to compensate for heavy Costco loads. When the car is off load it with a ton of weight and then have someone else turn the car on. You’ll notice the rear end raise to even if out

The Brabus site has some awesome stuff. Some of the wheels are awesome and the auto stop start memory module might be good as well.

I think 2,000 lbs would exceed the load capacity for the car.

Check out vic viper thread on this forum, he is a mercedes tech and lowered his s213 with coils in the front and programming of the rear air suspension. Regarding exhaust, maybe a shop can do a cat delete or something instead of a whole new exhaust.

2019 E450 wagon
Is there a way to lift a 2019 E450 wagon with luxury styling 3"? We'd like to take it up and down some unpaved mountain roads, and would like to have the extra ground clearance without having to buy an All-Terrain...
