E450 Wagon Wheel-Tire Sizing

Hello.
This is my first post but I have been using this forum (incognito) for quite some time. It has been very helpful and I have learned a lot.
I have a 2019 E450 4Matic Wagon which is at the moment all stock. I have another set of larger AMG wheels which I would like to put on the car, but I am not so sure about the wheel/tire sizing. I believe these are normally used on the S-Class W222. I have been doing some research online looking at Mercedes/AMG and Brabus resources to see what wheel/tire sizes are making it on the E450. I have also played with wheel-size.com.
I also put the wheels on the car and tried to measure around to see how much room there is. This is actually difficult with this car since it tries to level the car and the suspension is so stiff it makes it impossible to rock the car and see what the angle of the wheel is when going under the wheel well.

Anyone have experience which would make me feel more confident in going forward with this wheel change? Thank you in advance for your help.

CURRENT WHEELS:
- 8Jx19H2 ET43 - all the way around
- model A2134012000
- tires 245/40R19 - all the way around

REPLACEMENT WHEELS
Front
- 8.5Jx20H2 ET35
- model A2224014200
- target tire - 245/40R20 (OD of 704mm, sidewall height 98mm) I think this will fit in the front OK
Rear
- 9.5Jx20H2 ET35
- model A2224014300
- tires? this is where I am most unsure. It starts to get more tight in the rear. I would like to put 275/35R20 (OD 701mm, sidewall height 96mm) - it is so close to the OD of the front tire, and sidewall is still reasonable. But I am not sure it will fit.
- the other tire I am looking at is 265/35R20 (OD 694mm, sidewall height 93mm) - this is 10mm smaller OD than the front tire would be

I took some pictures of these 20" rims mounted on the car (without tires).
Thank you again for your help!

The pictures are unseen to me, but obviously the 245/40R20 tire is 1" larger in diameter than the 245/40R19, which is a BIG change. And a 10mm smaller diameter rear than front would be too much of a difference on a 4MATIC model.

245/35R20 is only 0.1" larger diameter than 245/20R19.

I don't see those sizes discussed above, but the difference in diameter between a 245/35R20 (26.8") and a 245/20R19 (22.0") is almost 4". And if you meant 245/35R19 and 245/20R20, it's still almost 2". I"m sure you just mis-typed. ;-)

Yes, a typo. The sizes are 245/35R20 (26.8") and 245/40R19 (26.7")

Thank you. I think I am going to go with 255/35R20 all around.
I found this site, which has an extensive chart of wheel-tire fittings on existing Mercedes, AMG, and Brabus configurations. There is a Brabus setup with the same wheel sizes and offsets, which is using this 255/35R20 tires. Although this does not say if they did anything with the suspension...
For the first time doing this I do not want to take the risk staggering the tires and making the rear not fit in the wheel well.

https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/in.../mercedes-benz

So hopefully this will fit without any rubbing.

Approved by Brabus:
front:
size 20x8.5 | offset 40 | tyre 255/35R20
rear:
size 20x9.5 | offset 35 | tyre 255/35R20

Janster - did you ever mount these wheels? If so, what size tires did you go with and did you have any issues with rubbing? Do you have pics?

I just bought a 2023 E450 All-Terrain Wagon and am looking at these same wheels with same offset and would love any info or guidance you can provide!

I realize this an an old thread but did those rims and tires fit without any rubbing and was the offset correct?

Fits great, no rubbing.
It is a stiffer rougher ride on bad roads.

Cool, Just what I wanted to hear. I've got the 18" studded snowies on right now but I'll start putting together all the pieces for the spring. Not a fan of how my 2019 wagon handles with the 245/40/18's summer tires on it.
Thank you

'21 E450 All-Terrain (Hightech Silver)
Just want to add to this thread for anyone out there:

I run Sparco Terra's in Matte Black, 18x8 5x112 35mm offset. Discount Tire officially says they don't fit, but speak with a manager there and they'll see the specs actually work fine. I'm also running BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A's. No rubbing. I also have a 2" lift. Everything fits VERY well, and this build works nicely for off-roading. 2021 E450 All Terrain in the US.
