Engine Oil capacity?

2019 BMW 540, 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 4-Matic
Engine Oil capacity?
The owner's manual states the car takes 7L of oil. But, I am reading that when you add 7L of oil, it shows low on the dipstick. So it takes 8L? That doesn't sound right. I am going to change the oil on my E300 4 Matic
after I get it back from the dealerships. I want to make sure I receive the right amount of oil.

Oil expands when at operating temperature. Don't overfill it with 8 liters.
My car never shows a low oil level when filled with 7 liters.
The level is in the middle of the range where it should be.

Too much oil can be just as bad as too little. Does not need to be at top of the full area on the dipstick.
